The Hyde Collection

Collections and Curation:

Education and Visitor Engagement

During my time at the Hyde Collection, I curated the summer exhibition. I chose 34 European prints from the permanent collection. Dating from 1500- 1850. My goal was to highlight how the permanent collection created narratives of what normalcy was, what were the narrative of prosperity was to the artist, viewer, and our current selves. I also asked the question of expulsion: who are we to choose who is excommunicated from our curated community?

A link to a list of prints and sample wall text will be here in the coming weeks:

When working with visitor engagement, I wrote visual descriptions of the artwork and furniture in the Hyde house to be translated into Braille.

I also organized visitor collection data.

Under education, I helped plan, test, and run the free second Sunday art workshops for children and families.
